At first an Edinburgh based landscape and bird painter, he first came to Tynron near Dumfries at the invitation of Arthur Duncan, Chairman of the Nature Conservancy Council. Donald Watson had a particular ability to relate wildlife, particularly birds to their landscape. His own special interest was in the hen harrier. |
